One piece of wholly good news is this year’s selection by Decanter for their Hall of Fame (previously known as Man or Woman of the Year). My neighbour, Becky Wasserman is the honoured person and I am thrilled for her: she has done so much to benefit the region as a whole as well as so many of us who have filled our lives with Burgundy wines.
There’s a podcast on I’ll Drink to That, where Becky is interviewed. Well worth a listen.
Congratulations to Beckey who I first met hosting a ”little luncheon party and tasting in her honor ”
(a phrase coined by my Taunte Marie) at my Club in Manhattan. During the lunch Beckey turned to me and said ”You should be in this business with you love for Burgundy.” I obeyed and went to work for Prestige Wine hence introducing the likes of Rene Engel, Andre Mussey, Daniel Rion, etc. to eager New Yorkers.
